As Senior Advisor to CEO at Piraeus Bank between 2014-2016 was responsible to set up the Task Force Merchant Banking and Special Situations unit that designed and executed corporate restructurings for some of the most problematic sectors of the Greek economy and devised platforms and strategies for the most efficient divestment of non-core assets and the deleveraging of the bank's balance sheet.
More than 24 years of experience in investment banking with tenures at five bulge bracket investment and commercial banks. He was Global Head of the Special Situations Group at UBS from 2011 to 2013, a unit that acted as a lender of last resort in structured financings. He served as Global Head and Managing Director to set up various structuring and trading businesses at Merrill Lynch from 2005 to 2008 and Deutsche Bank from 1999 to 2005. Prior to that, he spent 2 years as Director of EM Derivatives Trading and Structuring for Lehman Brothers and started his career at Credit Suisse where he worked for 7 years in corporate finance and specialized in structuring financial & derivatives solutions.
Holds an M.B.A. with a concentration in financial engineering from the Stern School of Business at New York University and a B.B.A. in finance and computer science from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst.

As Assistant General Manager of the Task Force Merchant Bank division of Piraeus Bank between 2014-2016, was responsible for project managing major debt restructurings specializing in Industrial, Transport, Hotel, Healthcares and F&B sectors. Served as the Head of Corporate Finance & Investment Banking and as an Executive BoD member at the Investment Bank of Greece, formerly part of the Marfin Popular Banking Group (2010-2013).
Prior to that, spent almost 10 years at Dresdner Kleinwort (now Commerzbank) in London as a Director in Strategic Advisory, Director in the Financial Sponsors & Leveraged Finance group and Deputy Head of the Securitisation and Structured Finance Credit Risk Management division. Started his career at Barclays Bank plc in the UK where he completed the Management Development Program. Between 2000 and 2001, was a senior Associate in the Telecoms & Media Debt Financing team of Barclays Capital in San Francisco. Brings deep knowledge and expertise in the Greek Hotel Sector through multiple assignments.
